My boyfriend booked this as a romantic getaway, with a view to strolling around Bath and taking in the Georgian architecture and Roman Baths. The Polish girl on reception was delightful and extremely helpful, giving us a permit to park our car for 24 hours (£8) and welcoming us to the room, which was very tastefully furnished and quiet (no dust!). The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. One of the best parts of the stay was the comfortable lounge to come back to after a meal out in the town (everything is within walking distance and the helpful staff provide maps). There was an open fire and a brilliant honesty bar - having met other guests in the lounge we tucked in and a merry time was had by all. The breakfast was really good (I had eggs benedict) and there was also a help yourself buffet of fruit and cereal, yoghurts etc. We were able to keep the car parked while we did some sight seeing until 3pm, which was a generous extra. Highly recommended!
Wow we were presently surprised by this
Lovely boutique guest house. Situated about a 5-10min walk from central Bath its in a great location.
The room was more than big enough with large bed and all the amenities you need, tea/coffee biscuits etc etc...
The staff were so so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The rooms throughout the building were lovey with a big open fire to welcome you.
Quite quirky was the "honesty bar" where you help yourself literally then write down what you have had which is then charged to your room.
Breakfast was cereals fruit yoghurts etc with specials to order and of course the full English all cooked fresh to order and what a fab breakfast it was to...
So would I recommend it... Yes...would I go again... For sure... Great place to stay, fab location and brilliant staff.
Parking is at the rear of the premises on a public car park £8.50 for 24 hours...
This guest house is more like a boutique hotel , the room , mattress and pillows were fab quality and great value for money , for someone who has often been disappointed by having a nice room but poor mattress , this guest house had it all plus friendly staff , highly recommend.
My husband and I have just spent a very pleasant short break in this Guest House and highly recommend it. All staff we met were very helpful, particularly the 2 reception ladies. The room was spotless and bed very comfortable. We had upgraded to a King room which was pleasantly decorated in a shabby chic style. The en suite was also of a high standard. Our break included Prosecco and chocolates and these were awaiting us on our arrival. On the second night some delicious homemade biscuits had been added to our generous tea and coffee facilities, a very nice touch. We were able to help ourselves to fresh milk if needed and very much liked the honesty bar concept. Breakfast was of a high quality and good variety. There was a cosy communal lounge with an open fire, music centre, candles and daily paper.
If I was being REALLY picky, the heating system kicks in at 7am and is quite noisy in that room, but I loved how toasty warm the room was, so a small price to pay.
The house was easy to find, a flat walk (less than a mile) from the bus and rail stations and town centre. It was one street away from the Royal Crescent, the botanical gardens and easy walk to riverside walk which takes you straight to Pulteney Bridge and Weir.
We will return!
